Flora on Silk
Silk is a very interesting medium to express one's creative urge. I use silk rarely, though, to paint my subjects on. But I must add that silk is sublime. It produces class if the medium and the subjects are properly handled. One needs practised hands to use Gutta and the colours. Small mistakes can add hours to the work.
What fascinates me most in silk painting is how a drop of colour spreads across the fabric, as it is absorbed. A drop of colour-- mellow red or a dark orange-- knows no bound, unless the Gutta stops the flow and limits the splendour within the boundaries that the artist draws for it.

Mitul's Creative Art on a Variety of Mediums
The artist Mitul
Mitul Bhattacharya is an Indian artist, practising her craft on a variety of surfaces and mediums, using her own techniques. She revels in colours, and her speciality is in working through intricate expressions of the subjects: both inner and outer. Her technique is quite original, as she continues to experiment on mix-media.
Based in the United Arab Emirates, Mitul has started her exhibitions very recently. There has been a tremendous demand for her works on pebbles, stones and bottles. Her work on paper, canvas and fabric have been also well appreciated.
" Contemporary art is fascinating, as the border between fine arts and craft becomes even less discerning. I say, only the prudes sit and distinguish between this and that, missing the art itself. I have always believed that art goes a step further than life. My art aspires to capture life in my own colours, in the way I want my world to be." Mitul
